Draft Strategy Presented to Board of Health Today

Did you know that more than 1 in 5 Thurston County adults aged 18 to 64 do not have a primary care provider? Having a person you consider your usual healthcare provider improves the likelihood that you will receive the clinical care that you need, in less costly settings (i.e. non-emergency care needs at the provider office rather than the emergency room), as well as preventive care.

Dr. Stephen Albrecht of Thurston-Mason County Medical Society and Board of Health Chair, and former chair of the Regional Health Improvement Collaborative, Cathy Wolfe presented the Clinical & Emergency Care strategy to the Board of Health and Thurston Thrives Advisory Council today. The two team leaders explained their involvement of key players from the health care community in developing a map of how to move our community toward better health outcomes and a better functioning system of care.

The team envisions a future in which:
“More people live longer, healthier lives because they take care of themselves and received the right care at the right places at the right time.”
A variety of strategies and activities contribute toward core objectives of:
1) educating and influencing people to make better choices.
2) increasing use of proven, evidence-based treatments and services.
3) increasing the public’s health awareness and self-care.
4) promoting appropriate resource utilization.

This will help our community achieve goals that lead us toward the vision:  integration of care (medical, behavioral and public health); learning to live a healthy life; increasing access to care; reducing disparities; and maximizing value of health care spending.

  1. These injuries or sicknesses area unit typically not serious enough to warrant a visit to any hospital's emergency department. Compared to a hospital's ER, or emergency department, that is open 24/7, AN pressing care center isn't open on an eternal basis, for more information click here urgent care palm beach gardens.

  2. I am 29 years old and have been diagnosed with breast cancer, ease of treatment and a similar story, except for my first acceptance as a rejection of herbal medicine. I was not part of the Perseid movement and did not really build relationships with any of them, I just believed in their operation. I say this because it was during the use of Dr. Itua herbal medicine that I now attest that herbal medicine is real, the phytotherapy Dr. Itua heal my breast cancer which I suffered for 2 years. Dr. Itua herbal medicine is made of natural herbs, with no side effects, and easy to drink.
